Using dedicated servers for your email campaigns can significantly enhance email deliverability and protect your sending reputation. In Smartlead, you can assign dedicated servers to both existing campaigns and during the creation of new campaigns. This guide explains both scenarios in detail.
Assigning a Dedicated Server to an Existing Campaign
1. Navigate to Email Campaigns
Log in to your Smartlead account.
Click on the Email Campaigns tab in the left-hand menu.
2. Select the Desired Campaign
Find the campaign you wish to modify and click on it to open the campaign dashboard.
In the campaign dashboard, navigate to the SmartServers tab.
You will find the option to assign new server to the campaign:
Click on ‘Assign SmartServer’ to select the desired dedicated server from the dropdown menu.
Once done, click on Update.
If a server is already assigned, you can click on Change SmartServer to update it.
A list of available servers will be displayed, along with details such as their current usage and health status.

After assigning or editing the server, click Save to finalize your updates.
Enable Auto-Pause on High Bounce Rate (Optional):
Turn on the auto-pause feature to safeguard your campaign from deliverability issues.
Set a bounce rate threshold—the system will automatically pause the campaign if this threshold is exceeded.
Assigning a Dedicated Server While Creating a New Campaign
1. Start Creating a Campaign
Go to the Email Campaigns section.
Click Create Campaign and proceed through the setup steps.
2. Access Campaign Settings
During the setup process, navigate to the Campaign Settings section.
In the settings, locate the option to assign a dedicated server.
Choose an available server from the dropdown menu.
Once the dedicated server is selected, complete the remaining setup and launch the campaign.
Key Notes
A single dedicated server can be assigned to multiple campaigns, offering flexibility in resource utilization.
Dedicated servers assigned to campaigns cannot be shared across different clients.
By assigning dedicated servers to your campaigns, you ensure consistent performance and better control over email deliverability.
