If you’ve noticed that your warmup email reports show more emails received than sent, you’re not alone.
Many Smartlead users have raised this concern, and we’re here to clarify why this happens and how we have improved it.
Why This Happens
Previously, the “emails received” count included all emails that landed in your inbox during the warmup process—not just replies. This meant that if you sent one email to multiple recipients, each of those recipients would count as having received an email, even if they weren’t expected to reply.
For example:
You sent a warmup email to B, C, and D.
You expected only B and C to reply.
Previously, B, C, and D all had their received email count increased by one.
This was why you might have seen a higher number of received emails compared to sent emails.
What’s Changed?
We have now updated the logic so that only actual replies count as received emails. This way, your “emails received” metric aligns more closely with your “emails sent” metric. You can see the warmup summary in the Email Accounts section (refer to the below screenshot):
What This Means for You
Your warmup email stats are now clearer and more accurate.
You no longer see an inflated number of received emails.
It’s easier to track how well your warmup process is working.
