Deleting leads in Smartlead helps you free up lead credits, but it’s important to understand how the system calculates and updates your credit usage. When a lead is deleted from a campaign, the associated credit is usually released immediately. However, if that lead still exists in another campaign or workspace, the credit remains in use.
To ensure accurate credit tracking, always verify if the lead exists elsewhere in your account before assuming the credit should be returned.
When you delete a lead email, the lead credits are reduced immediately. However, if the same lead is part of another campaign, the count will not decrease.
Immediate updates: Lead counts usually update instantly.
Rare delays: In some cases, it may take 10–15 minutes to reflect.
Check All Leads: In the All Leads section, see if the deleted lead still exists in another campaign this is often why the count doesn’t reduce.
Check the All Leads section first before contacting support. It can quickly reveal if the lead is still active elsewhere in your account.
