Google Warmup Announcement For Feb 2023

You may have seen GMass' founder's announcement on them shutting down their warmup engine.

Please read through these quick thoughts to prevent any confusion or doubts on Smartlead.

In short - if you're warming up on Smartlead you're perfectly good to continue doing so. 🔥

- GMass etc who "verified" their app to be listed on Google is hit by this warning, and given Googles legal team they can't just switch to 2FA or unlisted apps (like Smartlead)

- The way they identify warmers is effectively through a combination of NLP, "the tags on subject lines", as well as the use of their token with their "module"

- There are a bunch of savy/lucky people that never went down the authentication path Smartlead for e.g. We use the unlisted app which then providers a different token authentication route, "protecting" us for now

- Using Smartlead offers you SMTP/2FA approach, which will work PERFECTLY fine, as there's no way Google would hurt that, especially given we also use a very discreet warmup identification system (2 phrase key words)

- As to if you should oAuth or stick to SMTP, if you're open to the more "complex" setup as compared to oAuth, then yes we would say SMTP is the "better" option, however SMTP is a little more prone to sensitivity and you may face disconnects a little more than you would if you were using oAuth. If you have 10 mailboxes, we would recommend doing a 50/50 split for each between SMTP/oAuth

- Whatever be said, prepare for some weird things to happen in Feb with Gmail, no one knows - anyone who says they do - don't, this is Gmail, the King/Queen of email comms

- So be patient, diversify and send your cold emails

Smartlead'll get you to your leads primary inbox 💰
