Open rate tracking is a crucial feature in email marketing, helping users monitor recipient engagement and measure campaign effectiveness. In Smartlead, you have the option to enable or disable open rate tracking based on your preferences. However, it's important to note that this setting cannot be modified once a campaign has started.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to enable or disable open rate tracking in Smartlead.
Steps to Enable/Disable Open Rate Tracking
1. Navigate to Email Campaigns
Log in to your Smartlead account.
Click on the “Email Campaigns” section from the dashboard. Start Creating the campaign by clicking on ‘Create Campaign’. Click here, if you need help.
Once you reach the setup stage, proceed with the next steps.
2. Modify Campaign Settings
You can access Modify Campaign Settings either in the Setup stage:
or from the Final Review page by clicking on the Settings icon on the top right.
Click on the Modify Campaign Settings option.
3. Enable or Disable Open Rate Tracking
Look for the What Shouldn’t we track option.
By default the email opens and link clicks tracking is disabled to help improve your email deliverability.
If you need, you can enable the open rate tracking from here.
Important Considerations
Irreversible Setting: Once the campaign has started, the open rate tracking setting cannot be changed. Ensure your preference is correctly set before launching the campaign.
Impact on Analytics: Enabling open rate tracking allows you to track the percentage of recipients who open your emails. Disabling it may result in less detailed performance metrics but could improve email deliverability in some cases.
Privacy Compliance: Some recipients may have email privacy features that block tracking pixels, affecting open rate accuracy. Consider this when analyzing your campaign results.
By following these steps, you can efficiently manage your campaign settings and decide whether open rate tracking aligns with your marketing goals. Make sure to review your preferences carefully before launching your campaign in Smartlead!
